The North Pole in October
October is by far one of the busiest months at the North Pole with all the elves working overtime to make sure they fill all the toy orders for the upcoming holiday season. Not only are all the elves busy working in the largest toy factory in the world, North Pole Toy Co., but Mrs. Claus is busy baking cookies for all the hard working elves. Mrs. Claus’s delicious Christmas cookies are said to be so good that animals will migrate from all over the world just to catch a whiff of her age old secret recipe.
Because there is such a huge demand for Mrs. Claus’s magical Christmas cookies, she employs the help of her favorite elf, Sugarplum Mary, who is head of the Sweet Treats Division, and is Mrs. Claus’s loyal assistant in the kitchen. Rudolf loves Mrs. Claus’s Christmas cookies so much that he’ll often dress up like an elf and act like he’s making toys just to get a few extra Christmas cookies each day. But Mrs. Claus can see that big red shining nose a mile away!
Working on Santa’s Sleigh
October is an important time of year in the North Pole as it is when the elves repair Santa’s sleigh and add any additional upgrades as needed. The head elf that oversees all maintenance and repairs to Santa’s sleigh is the world famous elf Wunorse Openslae. Not only does Wunorse Openslae look after all the reindeer but is the head engineer behind repairs and upgrades to Santa’s sleigh and was even the one who created and designed Santa’s magical sleigh to begin with.
It is important that all repairs and upgrades are done to Santa’s sleigh by the end of October so that Santa has another 2 months to prepare with the reindeer and work out all the kinks in time for Christmas. Recent upgrades include a hot chocolate dispenser, turbo reindeer boost, invisibility cloaking device, as well as some type of instant Christmas cookie contraption.
Do Santa and the Elves Celebrate Halloween?
Just like in much of the world, Halloween is a major holiday in the North Pole. Halloween gives the elves and reindeer a chance to not focus on the busy upcoming season for a day and act like the children of the world. Just like how good little boys and girls dress up for Halloween, so do the elves and the reindeers. Sometimes the elves will dress up like their favorite reindeer, or like other animals that live in the North Pole. Sometimes the reindeer will dress up like their favorite elves, or like polar bears or sea otters.
But the most popular Halloween costume at the North Pole is always dressing up like Old Saint Nick. And Santa loves Halloween too because it is the only day of the year, besides Christmas, that he can eat as many cookies and North Pole chocolates as he can without getting an earful from Mrs. Claus.
